The 12th All Saints Mod Weekend in Lavarone
Trento, Italy [28 October - 31 October 2004]

Live on stage:
Live on Saturday 30th October - for the first time in Italy - the top funky soul jazz Hammond combo THE NICK ROSSI SET (San Francisco, USA), with support by ska jazz and rocksteady band THE BLUE YOUNG MONKEYS (Savona, Italy). Hopefully the brand new 45 by THE NICK ROSSI SET, "Spooky" (Flare Records), will be available to buy at All Saints. Live on Sunday 31st October - for the first time in Italy - the legendary freakbeat band THE ZIPPS (Holland). Support act: the Italian band THE BLACK CATS (Trento, Italy) who play a soulful mix of garage and beat.

The dj's for a great mixture of Black and White R&B, Jazz, Tamla Motown & 60's soul, Freakbeat, Latin & Boogaloo, Jamaican Ska & Rocksteady, Garage, Blue Eyed, Italian Beat, and much more... Rob Bailey (UK)Currently running 3 London clubs: THE MOUSETRAP ALLNIGHTER, which is in its 13th year now and the longest running Mod night ever. Rob also currently do other club nights MAGICK POTION & FAB. Involved heavily in the The New Untouchables scene who host and co host a number of Mod and 60's weekends around the World including Margate, Scarborough, Birmingham in the UK, Stateside Satisfaction in San Francisco USA, Euro Ye Ye in Spain with Trouble & Tea and Autumn Stone with Smart Drivers in Italy. New and Old Untouchables were also responsible for the legendary Isle of Wight events of the 90's and early 21st century.

Paul Welsby (UK)When not marvelling over the god-like skills of Christian Ronaldo, Paul is a resident DJ at The Hideaway Club in Manchester, The Hideaway Club Blackpoool and Cosmos in Leeds. He has also been a regular guest over the years for the New Untouchables and at various rare soul events in the North (too many to mention in the presence of his wife!). Paul's career highlight to date is DJing at this years Prestatyn Weekender just before Baby Washington's first British show. Current five favourites : Well - The Olympics (UK HMV), Tough Train - The Champs (Challenge), Little Lonely One - The Jarmels (Laurie), In The Ring - The Champions (Tower), Dizzy c/up (under threat of death from Ted & Nashee).

Lee Miller (UK)Another "oldie", Lee has been spinning 60's Soul, Jazz, Latin, Boogaloo and his passion Rhythm & Blues on the Mod scene since 1985. He's also spun the "black gold" in France, Italy & Spain and is part of the NUT's DJ team. Lee's also one of the resident dj's of Flipside r'n'b club in Dewsbury, England. And he's guest dj'ing at many Mod & Soul nights throughout the UK.
Thomas Jamt-Roaas (Norway)Thomas is one of the resident dj's at Beat Basement in Oslo, Norway. He has also dj'ed at a lot of clubs in Sweden, Norway and at Wild Weekend in Spain. Thomas delivers beat, freakbeat and garage and is specialized in Scandinavian sounds. Here's a top 5: 1. Divorced - "I'm gonna leave you satisfied", 2. The Firebeats - "Let me tell you", 3. The PussyCats - "Why have we to wait", 4. The Troublemakers - "Sally", 5. Ken Levy and the Phantoms - "Missed Out".

Harry Vogel (Germany)We are proud to have this great man in Lavarone this year. Harry is in fact a veteran of the German scene: he's into the sound since 1979 and actively on the mod scene since 1983. He's the editor of www.TheScene.de website, ex-guitarist of The Heartbeats and Swinging London, and even if he call himself "an occasional DJ", you will surely be impressed by his selection. His favourite dj's are Lee Miller and Mary Bogoaloo, but as every mod should do, he loves any musical style considered Mod (yes, even 79 and Ska...). So in Lavarone you will listen and dance to a black and white mixture of smashing tunes from Harry's collection of chunky black 45s!.

Mark Stewart (UK)Mark is co-founder of, and resident dj at Flipside r'n'b club in northern England. Joined the mod scene 79/80 and first DJ'd in 84 with the All Our Yesterdays AMS. Mark is a specialist in early black r'n'b & soul. UK Clubs DJ'd at include: Hideaway, Lowton Civic, Bury Town Hall, Cleethorpes, Mayfair + various smaller clubs and mod weekenders. Also have a passion for bespoke suits and shoes. 3 picks from the box: Hungry Man - Titus Turner, Little Jimmy - Looking for you, Patty Cake Shake - Guitar Ray.

Phillipe Golbert (Antwerp, Belgium)On the Antwerp-Belgian Mod scene since 1989 and DJ around Europe since 1991 at many rallies in Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, UK. Phillipe is also a member of The Gonks. Since 1991 he does a weekly radio show called 'Grow Your Own' on Radio Centraal 106.7 FM. In Antwerpen he's co-organising the SMASH weekend in November and the regular SOUND SPECTRUM parties. For the All Saints weekend Phillipe will bring a nice selection of British & Continental Beat and Psych music. A combination of classics with new discovered records, as always!

Bruno Pisaniello (Pordenone/Italy)Impressed of modernism since his late childhood, "Pisa" is a veteran dj on the Italian mod scene. He is involved in different aspects of the Italian mod scene since 1985: music, parties, zines and scooters. He is behind the only existent compilation album of Italian mod bands, several italian mod band 7', Moder Groove zine, La Vigliacca Scooter Club and scooter rallies. His passion is also his life and work: Bruno run the Stile Italiano/Modern Groove shop in Cordenons (Pordenone) where he sells scooters, records and clothing. He knows very well all the different aspects of the mod sound, but in Lavarone he will play rare and classic Tamla Motown gems and mod '79 floorshakers tunes whose is one of the best collector of Italy.

Peter (Italy)With great pleasure Peter is again with us this year in Lavarone. Involved in the Mod scene of Rome since years, he is behind the organization of some smashing events that had taken place in Italy this year. SIXTIES JAMAICA , PRE 63 NIGHT, SIXTIES RARE AND NORTHERN SOUL ALLNIGHTER, SWINGING SIXTIES PARTY. He is also behind the Leones Feri fanzine, the Get Smart Roma dj nights and is one of the editor of www.stilemod.it website. From his own collection of black music, at the 12th All saints he will play for sure a groovy selection of jazz and 60's soul...for dancers only!

Henry (Milan/Italy)Another oldie this year in Lavarone. With pleasure we have Henry of Milano Mods organization behind the decks. He's involved into the scene since 1990 and he is one of the hardest working dj of the north of Italy. He play regularly three times at week at the Shake it Easy, Popscene and Hipshaker nights he organizes in Milano, he has a weekly radio programme on modernist culture since ten years called Action, and in cooperation with the Uomo Ragno Mod Club he organizes the monthly Buzz with the Fuzz night and other parties in his region. Now Henry has also started a new monthly night called The In Crowd Club. He collects soul, r&b, latin, freakbeat, psychedelia, garage and jazz, but at the All Saints he will play a smashing selection of freakbeat ravers and funky garage tunes. Classic tracks and surely some rare and new discovered records, as that is Henry's style!

Alessandro Detassis (Gothenburg/Sweden)Alessandro is the founder of Mission impossible Mod organisation and the main organiser of the weekend since 1994. Before moving to Sweden, he was deep involved in the Italian mod scene. In Sweden he is resident DJ of Club Radio London of Gothenburg and he has been one of the organizers of the smashing Sinful Weekend. In the past he dj'ed in several places of Italy and also in Germany. He listens and dances black and white music as every mod should do, but in Lavarone he will play a wild selection of white r&b, garage and Italian beat. His top five tracks are the following: I'll make you pay-Shady Daze, You are holding me down-Buzz, Midnight Moses-Alex Harvey, On my way-Lee kings, Walk baby walk-Johnny Neal.

Bazza (Italy)One of the organizer of the weekend. Bazzas musical taste goes through all the different styles of black music of the late 50's, 60's and early 70's, but at the All Saints he will play mainly a stomping selection of jamaican ska and r&b, and surely some hot shots of skinhead reggae for all the peanuts that will be there.

Richard Karström (Sweden)One of the organisers, Richard plays black sixties r'n'b, a splash of popcorn and jazzy Hammond grooves. Richard has played at the Sinful Weekender in Sweden, Men from Unkel 2003, various clubs in the UK and last years All Saints. He also dj'ed at Modstock 2 in London and at Our Way of Thinking 3 in Chicago.
